Happy Tuesday!! SUPER pumped to be halfway (ish) through a short work week! It’s been crazy busy around here y’all, but I ‘m gonna break it down for you…
I have been trying to find a good Chinese restaurant around town and nothing has hit the mark.
Thai, yes. Chinese, no.
I tried the China Cook near our house (and seriously, the sign looks like it says China Cok so it was already sketch in my book) and it was not so good.
I tried Ding How. Soup= good. Rest of food = average.
We were seriously spoiled in our old neighborhood- we had a great place within walking distance!
Not that my arse walked there, but I could had I wanted to!
So I am lamenting this to my girlfriend and she says “Oh, try Mandarin House.
Dad and I used to go there all the time and loved it”.
Ok. So I drag the family to Mandarin House and realize it’s a buffet.
My teenager gets this look on her face as we are being seated.
The 5 year old is skipping around because she sees an entire section of fruit.
After our first plates, I am ok with it. Not great, not too terrible. Eh.
The teenager refuses to eat.
The 5 year old is in heaven because they have fried okra and hot dogs dipped in butter and baked in crescent rolls.
LIFE IS GRAND.
Clearly, V thinks this place is Number 1.
I am giving it a 1 out of 5 stars.
Everyone starts to slow down.
My tummy starts making weird noises.
The teenager references that scene in the movie Bridesmaids-
“LOOK AWAY!!” and we ask for our check.
That’s right. One no eat. That’s the teenager’s new name.
I picked up this box of super protein muffin mix at Target over the weekend:
I followed the directions on the box but then added quite a few frozen organic blueberries before I baked them.
Y’ALL! Two muffins, 330 calories, 18 grams of protein and YUMMY with the extra blueberries. WIN.
The teenager even ate them!
Solid breakfast when you are SO tired of eggs everyday. Try them!
Cheers to a long relaxing holiday weekend! XOXO
