While scrolling through Pinterest a few weeks ago, I saw a sponsored post for RocksBox. Have you seen it?? Cute little pin with a leopard clutch and some turquoise Kendra Scott jewelry?
I clicked on the link and saw that RocksBox is a jewelry subscription service similar that is part Rent the Runway, part Stitch Fix.
How it works: You register on their site and browse a ‘wish list’ of jewelry pieces. Brands they carry include Gorjana, Sophie Harper, Kendra Scott, Moon & Lola and House of Harlow. I’ve seen the majority of these brands at Nordstrom, so think high-ish end costume jewelry.
You choose what you like/love and the site curates your personal Wish List. Each month, a stylist chooses 3 items for you (referring to your wish list!). You pay $19 for 30 days of use of the jewelry. At the end of your 30 days, you’ll be charged $19 again and you can KEEP the jewelry (and wear it!!) for another 30 days, send it back, or purchase one or more pieces.
Bonus? If you purchase a piece, you get a discounted price. OH and they give you a $10 credit each month towards any purchase. Amazing?!
I scrolled through the available wish list items and chose what I would like to wear. I steered away from any of the uber popular Kendra Scott earrings only because I felt like ‘been there, done that’ and I wanted a little something different. My favorite items from my wish list include:
Kendra Scott Carey Earrings in Amethyst
Slate Total Eclipse Cuff
Soko Organic Cuff
Solid pieces, right?
I received notification that my box had shipped on Monday and was supposed to receive it Thursday. Well……it didn’t arrive Thursday. Or Friday.
*Note that they charged my credit card for the $19 monthly membership fee once the box was shipped, so I tapped my toes for 6 days in anticipation until it finally arrived on Saturday. LUCKILY for me, the box arrived the same day we were celebrating our wedding anniversary and had plans for a swanky dinner out.
Once I opened the box, I may have squealed. Guess what I got?
Kendra Scott Carey Earrings in Amethyst!
I tried them on and let me be honest, they look a little different in person than online. The purple is a much more subdued lavender- almost light pink- and the gold is a really light gold as well. I had to do a double take to make sure they weren’t silver.
I decided to wear them with the navy strappy dress I’d picked out for dinner. Here they are on:
I also received the Jules Smith 10 Stone Pave Bar Cuff:
and the Gorjana Gold Rush Layer Necklace:
I immediately loved the cuff and knew that I’d wear it a ton. The necklace, I wasn’t sold on. It’s a cute design but the gold color is a little off. Almost like a necklace you’d buy at Forever 21 for $8- it’s just got an extremely “unauthentic” look to it.
I decided I’d be keeping the Kendra Scott earrings and was on the fence with the bracelet. Here’s what I would pay (Insider’s Price) if I chose to keep the pieces:
Are y’all seeing that Gorjana necklace retails for $110? My eyeballs may have been permanently scorched. WHY? $110?? Anyway.
I accumulated some credit for a few referrals plus my $10/month credit that RocksBox gives you, so the Kendra earrings were almost free to me. I’m not sure if I’ll fork over $60 for the cuff. Thoughts?
Now for the exciting part- I have only one more referral code that will give you a free first month of RocksBox if you’d like to try it out!
Only one left, so first person to use it, gets it.
Go to www.rocksbox.com and enter the referral code LESLIERBFF3 when signing up. That’s it! Choose your Wish List pieces and wait very impatiently for your first three items to arrive-free to you! Leave me a comment if you get my last free month!!
Tell me- have you tried RocksBox?? What do you think?? Inquiring minds want to know! xoxo
(*Disclosure: The referral code in this post means if you go to the RocksBox website and sign up, I will receive a small referral credit for sending you their way. Cool? Cool!)
