I have been missing girl time lately and decided to reach out and invite some of my favorite people over for #DIPZNDICE. The Evite went a little something like this:
“Ladies!! It’s time for Dipz N Dice! Bring $10 cash, your ‘A’ game and a hot a$$ dip to share; we’re going to play Bunco!”
Bunco sometimes gets a bad rap for being a boring old lady game, but really, it’s all about who’s playing. When I mentioned it at work one day, several of my girls were immediately IN and we landed on a date that worked for everyone.
Thursday was pushing 90 degrees and we were gathering on my screened in porch. I hoped it would cool off pretty fast, or at least not be muggy, and true to an early June evening in the South, it was perfectly divine.
The Spotify playlist “Throwback Dance Party” was so on point with In Da Club by 50 Cent, Hot in Herre by Nelly, and Milkshake by Kelis. Go ahead, sing a little bit, I’ll wait.
On the menu:
Mexican bean dip, queso, queso with sausage, blue cheese buffalo chicken dip, Lindsay’s famous Captain Rodney’s dip, 9 layer dip, guacamole, hummus, and spinach & artichoke dip.
Lemon water, a variety of sodas, a few bottles of wine and a 12 pack of Coors Light Citrus Radler (have never had this before but it’s kind of like a cross between Coors Light & Fresca).
For dessert? Homemade brownies, fresh peach cobbler (peaches from The Peach Truck!!), and s’mores dip. YUMMY! I may have made a ‘test run’ cobbler the night before to check and make sure my recipe was on fleek.
It was! NOM NOM NOM.
We were so busy chatting and stuffing our faces, we didn’t start playing until 8pm. After 3 rounds, we called the game and announced our winners.
Most wins, most losses & most buncos! Congrats to Sarah, Jessica & Melissa! Love all of these ladies.
Until next time! xoxo
