Oh how I’m looking forward to the long holiday weekend! It’s been brutally hot lately and even though we’ve got a splendid forecast that looks a little something like this: [Read more…]
Archives for June 2015
I realized sometime during the month that I never posted the books I was planning to read.
Probably because I didn’t know what books I was going to read!
I hopped on Amazon and downloaded a couple of new ones to my Kindle. What I read:
I have been missing girl time lately and decided to reach out and invite some of my favorite people over for #DIPZNDICE. The Evite went a little something like this:
“Ladies!! It’s time for Dipz N Dice! Bring $10 cash, your ‘A’ game and a hot a$$ dip to share; we’re going to play Bunco!”
The grandparents very generously offered to have the girls spend the weekend with them to give Josh and I a little adult time that has become so scarce. We were psyched that the girls were excited to go visit and a tad more psyched that we’d have a few days of alone time!
By Thursday afternoon, I was already dreaming of all the exciting things I would be doing!! We’re talking binge-watching Netflix, not cooking anything for anyone, not wiping any behinds and maybe sleeping in until 6:30am.
It’s Tuesday!! My favorite day of the week right behind Friday, Saturday & Sunday! Two things today:
1) I have been KILLING it at Orangetheory. Seriously! I have surprised myself how well I have kept up with it and after only 9 classes, my thighs don’t rub together anymore. I have gained 3 lbs and am not happy about it, but I do see improvement in muscle tone, so there’s that.
Below are a few of my recent class results:
Josh and I had a casual dinner one Wednesday evening not too long ago with the parents of one of Violet’s classmates. Lauren and Tim are very down to earth and fun and we all clicked when we met at Monkey Joe’s during a bounce house birthday party. None of us takes ourselves too seriously and I secretly love that I can say just about anything to Lauren without judgement. Usually she can one up me with some ridiculousness, so she’s one of those rare people that make you feel instantly comfortable and a little less insane.
Lauren mentioned that their daughter was moving up into the next class at school within the week.
WHAT?!? No, they can’t separate our girls!
I quizzed her frantically for any clue that Violet would be moving up as well and it seemed what was the separater from the ‘young 3’s’ to the ‘older 3’s’ was the ability to go potty. The answer appears to be “Not in your pants”.
Hey! It’s JUNE! Time is flying by….but not too fast for Two Things.
1) I know by now you’ve seen Bruce Jenner’s transformation into Caitlyn Jenner. I think Bruce became a beautiful woman. I think everyone deserves to be happy and if he/she is, then YAY for him/her. * I’m still indecisive regarding pronoun usage until I see more “her” than “him” in print. Things that have dumbfounded me about this : How in the world do you go 65 years before you decide to transition? How are you on hormones (after 2 marriages) and are headed towards a transition and Kris Kardashian changes your mind? How?? My mind is blown.
