1) I drove in icy torrential downpours to make a book signing at Barnes & Noble this past Saturday. Jessica Turner, author of The Fringe Hours was there and I.HAD.TO.MEET.HER. This book is all about finding moments throughout your day to do things that truly fulfill you as a person.
Women are caretakers and ‘do-ers’ and have a hard time finding time for themselves, or ‘self care’ as it is. Jessica walks through all of the reasons and psychology of why we think like we do, why we put everyone and everything else first. She walks through how to challenge yourself to find even 10 minutes in your day for yourself. Those daily 10 minute windows add up over time.
My favorite chapters were the ones teaching you how to say ‘No’. How to gracefully say ‘No’. How to not feel guilty about saying ‘No’.
I found myself shaking my head and saying “YES, GIRL!!!” more than a few times while reading it. Do yourself a favor and pick up a copy. P.S. She was charming in person!
2) Violet’s haircut cracks me up! She got bangs and she loves them. I think she likes the fact that her hair isn’t in her eyes anymore. Usually she asks for “Anna braids”, but this day, she let her hair down. I love this baby!
Happy Tuesday Yall!
