My daily job consists of LOTS of numbers and LOTS of spreadsheets. Very often PowerPoint presentations and Word documents. Occasionally, Publisher. I can maneuver through all of them, some better than others. I may even shock you with my mad Excel skills.
Who knew I was under utilizing one of the easiest Microsoft products to date?
All these years I’ve been using Microsoft programs for my day job, I had no idea you could create such cute graphics in Word. No idea! I mean, I knew you could draw shapes and change their format, but it just never dawned on me to use Word for anything other than a document full of, well, words.
Do you love monograms? Do you want to make your own graphics?
Abby over at Just A Girl and Her Blog has some awesome tutorials!
Hop over to Create your own monogram in Word.
Some things to note that might make it even easier (better known as trial and error on my part):
*Once you’ve created your first name initial, right click and copy and paste it. Then right click and select “Edit Text” and change the letter. Saves a few minutes and you guarantee that your first initial and middle initial (or positions 1 and 3, respectively in the monogram) are the exact same size.
*Once you’ve completed your monogram and you get through the grouping step, if you want to change any colors, outlines, or placement of the individual letters in the monogram, you’ll need to ungroup first.
*In order to use my monogram as a .JPG file, I selected CTRL-SHIFT-PRTSC and created a print screen. It immediately popped up in my Picasa album. I was able to crop it and save it as a .JPG file. You may have a better way to convert it to .JPG, but this was easy for me!
