As we progress in life, there are certain things that become more clear to us.
One of those things is that it’s better to have a few pair of really nice shoes, than a closet full of trendy, wear a few times & toss ones. I remember one Halloween, dressed as a ‘cute construction worker’, that I picked up some cheap-ish construction boots. Around 2 am, in the Gulch in downtown Nashville, I threw them into a street side dumpster and walked back to my car barefoot. They were that uncomfortable! Of course cheap is OK for Halloween, but not for everyday, go-to heels.
Once you spend a pretty penny on some gorgeous heels, you want them to last. How to ensure that? Take care of them!
Emily over at Cupcakes and Cashmere has an amazing post about how to care for your new lovies. One of my favorite tips- for light colored patent leather, store them in tissue paper. The light patent tends to absorb (over time) any color it comes into contact with and it’s virtually impossible to fix. NOTED!!
Also, if you invest in a light colored leather handbag, denim is ‘like sandpaper’ to it. Who knew??
